Frequently asked questions about EPO906

What is EPO906 used for?

EPO906 is an investigational small molecule being studied for the treatment of ovarian cancer and colon cancer. It has been evaluated in clinical trials for these oncology indications, including a Phase 3 study in ovarian cancer and a Phase 1 study in advanced colon cancer.

What does EPO906 target?

EPO906 is a small molecule oncology drug. Its specific molecular target has not been disclosed in the available clinical trial information. The drug is being studied for its potential anti-cancer effects in ovarian and colon cancer patients.

Who makes EPO906?

EPO906 is being developed by Novartis AG, a multinational pharmaceutical company listed on the stock exchange under the ticker symbol NVS. Novartis has sponsored clinical trials evaluating EPO906 in patients with ovarian cancer and colon cancer.

What phase is EPO906 in?

EPO906 is an investigational drug that has completed clinical trials. It has been studied in a Phase 3 trial for ovarian cancer and a Phase 1 trial for colon cancer. Both trials are completed, and the drug is not approved for any indication.

What clinical trials is EPO906 in?

EPO906 has been studied in two completed clinical trials. NCT00262990 was a Phase 3 trial comparing patupilone (EPO906) versus doxorubicin in 829 patients with ovarian, primary fallopian, or peritoneal cancer. NCT00969046 was a Phase 1 dose-escalation study in 60 patients with advanced colon cancer.

Is EPO906 the same as patupilone?

Yes, EPO906 is also known as patupilone. The Phase 3 clinical trial NCT00262990 refers to the drug as patupilone, confirming that EPO906 and patupilone are the same investigational drug being developed by Novartis for cancer treatment.
