Frequently asked questions about ISIS 2503

What is ISIS 2503 used for in pancreatic cancer?

ISIS 2503 is an investigational small molecule being studied for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. It is an antisense oligonucleotide that targets H-ras, a gene involved in cell growth and division. The drug is designed to inhibit the production of H-ras protein, which may slow or stop the growth of cancer cells.

What does ISIS 2503 target?

ISIS 2503 targets H-ras, a gene that encodes a protein involved in cell signaling pathways that regulate cell growth and division. By binding to H-ras messenger RNA, ISIS 2503 is designed to reduce the production of this protein, potentially inhibiting the growth of pancreatic cancer cells.

Who is developing ISIS 2503?

ISIS 2503 is being developed by Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on RNA-targeted therapies. Ionis Pharmaceuticals is publicly traded under the ticker symbol IONS on the NASDAQ stock exchange.

What phase is ISIS 2503 in?

ISIS 2503 is in Phase 2 clinical development. It is an investigational drug and has not been approved by the FDA. A Phase 2 clinical trial has been completed to evaluate its safety and efficacy in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.

What clinical trials is ISIS 2503 in?

ISIS 2503 has been studied in one completed clinical trial, identified as NCT00005594. This Phase 2 trial, titled 'ISIS 2503 in Treating Patients With Advanced Cancer of the Pancreas,' enrolled 4 participants in the United States. The trial was uncontrolled and not randomized or double-blinded.

Is ISIS 2503 the same as any other drug?

ISIS 2503 is also known by the name ISIS-2503. It is an antisense oligonucleotide that targets H-ras. No other alternative names have been reported for this investigational drug.
