CI-1040 was studied for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including colorectal neoplasms, breast cancer, non-small-cell lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer. It is an investigational small molecule that was evaluated in a Phase 2 clinical trial in adults with these advanced cancers.
CI-1040 targets MAP2K1 and MAP2K2, also known as MEK1 and MEK2. It is a small molecule inhibitor of these kinases, which sit in the MAP kinase signaling pathway that drives cell proliferation in many tumors. Inhibiting MAP2K1 and MAP2K2 was intended to block that signaling.
