Obicetrapib is an investigational small molecule being studied for dyslipidemia, high cholesterol, and hypercholesterolemia, as well as early Alzheimer's disease, antioxidant absorption, hepatic impairment, and lipid metabolism. It is also evaluated in healthy volunteers. The drug is in Phase 2 clinical development and is not yet approved.
Obicetrapib targets cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) and acts as a CETP inhibitor. By inhibiting CETP, it is designed to affect lipid metabolism, which is relevant to its study in dyslipidemia and related cholesterol conditions.
