Supporting our community is near and dear to our hearts. Especially as we approach the holiday season. While we support our partners and their mission to serve their local communities, USPh also strongly supports local charities throughout Greater Houston.
Supporting Local Charities
We use the holiday season as an excuse to bring everyone together for our annual USPh Foundation Holiday outreach event. This year, we are continuing our partnership with BEAR (BE A Resource for CPS Kids). BEAR does incredible work in Houston, supporting infants, children, and teens within Child Protective Services.
USPh offers two different ways for employees to get involved.
The first one is through BEAR’s Amazon Wish List, each registered volunteer will pick out gifts from the online wish list on Amazon. Employees get to pick the items they wish to send but USPh pays for the gifts as well. These gifts ship directly to the BEAR Warehouse with plenty of time before Christmas. The items will be immediately matched and distributed to the child who requested them.
The second way USPh employees can get involved in our holiday gift-giving is to sponsor a Child/Children. BEAR connects one specific child in need with a compassionate team in Houston! The USPh Foundation provides our employees with a gift card to use. Our team members receive an email with details of each specific child and their wish list and drop off the gifts for each sponsored child at BEAR’s HQ.
For many employees, this is their favorite USPh tradition. For USPh it is a time of reflection and appreciation for our city and team members. Together we’re building a stronger community and spreading the spirit of giving that defines this season.
