Dr. Anna Greka is a highly accomplished physician-scientist, academic leader, and biotechnology entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience translating foundational biological discoveries into clinical-stage assets. As a prominent institutional builder with a proven track record of strategic and large-scale operational leadership, Dr. Greka is pioneering the “nodal biology” paradigm—the convergence of clinically distinct diseases on shared druggable nodes.
Dr. Greka has successfully founded two venture-backed biotech companies based on breakthroughs from her laboratory. She co-founded Goldfinch Bio, which advanced a novel ion channel inhibitor into Phase 2 clinical trials before its acquisition by Bristol Myers Squibb. Later, she founded Sail Bio and established a strategic partnership with AstraZeneca around a novel TMED cargo receptor target that culminated in the company’s acquisition. In addition to her entrepreneurial success, she has served as a strategic consultant and advisor across the industry lifecycle for leading biopharmaceutical firms and venture funds, including Merck, Novartis, AbbVie, Bain and Blackstone.
In academia, Dr. Greka is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Mass General Brigham. She serves on the faculty and on the Executive Leadership Team of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, steering an $800M annual operating budget for 4,000 scientists and staff. As the Founding Director of the $50M+ Ladders to Cures Scientific Accelerator, she leads a team of over 300 scientists collaborating with partners like Google DeepMind to systematically identify new therapeutic targets using advanced machine learning and AI.
A graduate of the Harvard-MIT MD-PhD program, Dr. Greka is a globally recognized thought leader who has been featured at TED, the World Economic Forum, and the Royal Society.
