FLINT, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Molina Healthcare of Michigan(“Molina”) in collaboration withThe MolinaCares Accord(“MolinaCares”), announced a grant to theGenesee County Habitat for Humanity(“Genesee Habitat”). The $275,000 donation will support the organization’shome repair programwhich funds fixes to local homes in desperate need of repair for families who couldn’t otherwise afford labor and materials.
Genesee Habitat provides repair services to over 150 qualifying homes each year. The repair program helps low-to-moderate income homeowners alleviate health and safety issues in and around their home. Eligible repairs include roofs, structural damage, porch repair, electric, plumbing, HVAC, handicap accessibility, siding, exterior paint, weatherization, and energy efficiency.
“This generous investment into our home repair program is a powerful commitment to the health and stability of our community,” said Thomas Hutchison, executive director of Genesee County Habitat for Humanity. “This support from Molina will allow more families to remain safely in their homes, preserving dignity and strengthening neighborhoods across Genesee County. We are deeply grateful for their partnership in advancing safe, affordable housing for all.”
The grant aligns with the Genesee County 2026Action Plancentered on housing and community development. The plan calls for an increase of homeownership, in part, through partnerships with organizations like Genesee Habitat to rehabilitate and repair homes for low-income residents.
