Reaching New Heights Through Nutrition: Letti Wong’s Inspiring Career Journey
Letti Wong, MPH, RDN, serves the healthcare community the best way she knows how – through nutrition. She believes, “Food is an international language everyone knows and understands.” She has learned throughout her career that nutrition for patients and residents in the hospital and long-term care community is essential.
Letti’s passion propelled her early career as a Registered Dietitian (RD). While serving as an RD, she was always interested in the connection between nutrition, health, and recovery. When an opening for the Dining Services Manager became available, she was eager to pursue it, allowing her to have more influence on the food served to patients.
After transitioning to her managerial role, Letti emphasized, “I was lost, feeling like I had no more room to grow. I wanted to achieve the highest level, but I didn’t know how.”
Soon after, HCSG partnered with the hospital she was managing. Her skills in effectively managing the department were quickly observed, and her passion for training and nutrition was evident, earning her an offer to pursue a District Manager (DM) position. Letti exclaimed, “That’s why I was happy when HCSG came on board and offered me the DM role. This allowed me to take on more challenges on a new career path I enjoyed.”
With her managerial role and previous clinical experience, Letti has seen both sides of the dining spectrum for patients. Her mantra, along with HCSG’s, is to focus on our people—both team members and patients. She expressed, “HCSG values our people. Our people are the biggest asset to our company, and we, as a company, are fully aware of providing training and support to ensure our team members are confident and capable of serving our community.”

As an HCSG DM, Letti has honed her skills in overseeing multiple dining departments across Los Angeles. She is gearing up for a new leadership role, Director of Operations, where she will be instrumental in sustaining growth and development within our organization. She explained, “With the continuous growth of HCSG, there are many opportunities and training programs to allow for career advancements. This path with HCSG allows me to expand my expertise beyond the district level, and I want to share my experience with others to facilitate adequate communication at all levels.”
