Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive and ultimately fatal condition that causes scarring and thickening of the lungs, making it more and more difficult for patients to breathe.
The exact cause of IPF is unknown, but it is believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors.
