Full Press Release Details
BOCA RATON, Fla., Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- DryEye Rescue announced that it is now the exclusive distributor of ScoutPro in the United States, with Bausch + Lomb continuing direct sales. ScoutPro, osmolarity test cards, and control solutions are available now through DryEye Rescue and ready to ship.
The announcement builds on years of collaboration between DryEye Rescue and Bausch + Lomb across the over-the-counter products practices already order, and more recently Bausch + Lomb's prescription line through DryEye Rescue's Rx division. With ScoutPro, DryEye Rescue now adds diagnostics to that relationship.
Tear osmolarity has long been a trusted, objective measure of the ocular surface. ScoutPro aids in the diagnosis of dry eye disease in two settings: pre-operative planning for cataract and refractive surgery, where the ASCRS recommends osmolarity testing to identify visually significant ocular surface disease, and everyday dry eye care, where it gives clinicians an objective measure to inform their evaluation. The test is CLIA waived and billed under CPT 83861, subject to payer coverage.
ScoutPro is portable, practical, and precise. Collection and analysis happen in a single handheld pen, results appear in seconds, and the test requires only a tiny tear sample, allowing practices to test even the driest eyes. The test cards are interchangeable with the first-generation TearLab system, so practices that already own a device will see no change to their workflow.
What this means for practices
Through DryEye Rescue, practices can:
• Order ScoutPro, test cards, and control solutions in the same cart as the more than 1,000 products they already purchase
• Receive hands-on help getting set up on their CLIA Certificate of Waiver
• Get support building osmolarity into their dry eye protocol and everyday workflow
• Benefit from fast fulfillment from DryEye Rescue's facility, with free shipping on orders over $250
The ScoutPro Osmolarity System is a CLIA waived test for human tears. Each testing site must hold a CLIA Certificate of Waiver before testing. Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician. For full Indications and Important Safety Information, visit bauschsurgical.com/safety.
